Work From Home

Sell Your Skills (Part 2)- If you don't think you have skills and don't want to do manual labor, learn new skills!

That's right! It's as simple as that!

Well, actually, I can tell you that simply. However, depending on the new skill you choose to learn it could take some time to master it.

Here's the very, very short version of how I made money with websites:

I made my first website for fun. The more I worked on it the more fun I had and soon it was a hobby. Then, one day while I was searching for free stuff online one of my webpages came up as the first listing. That totally blew my mind. I knew that was good because high listings are hard to get.

I began searching for information about how free stuff sites like mine made money. When I found out how, I set my mind on the goal and soon I was getting checks. Some checks were quite nice. A few were surprisingly larger than normal so, I set out to discover the source of the change. I found that my website had been listed in a well known print publication and several high traffic sites.

Through that one website I made money in many ways. The design of the website improved over time. Eventually, others took notice and offered to pay me to design sites for them. I made money from programming skills that I learned while developing my website. The best was when I was hired at the local ISP to do what I was enjoying, developing websites.

I wanted to know more. So, I left that job to enter college. My lifelong dream, aside from computers. With four kids and school I couldn't keep up with the demands of clients so, I stopped developing websites.

I'm still in college. I know the payoff will be worth it. However, I still make extra money when time permits.

If I can do it, you can do it. So, what skill do you want to learn? What do you think you would be good at? What could you read about for hours without being bored? Take your time thinking about it. Choose something you know you will really enjoy. Then, give yourself the time to learn.
